The Big Ben, the House of Parliament and the Westminster BridgeAfter the success of Austin we are back in Europe, back to the city where we first started TECHunplugged… London!

Just in case you don’t know about it yet, TECHunplugged is a 1-day IT conference with a good mix of sessions hosted by independent influencers and a small number of selected vendors. The idea is to keep this event very informative and educative with a lot of opportunities for peer-to-peer networking.

12th of May, save the date!!!

Same venue as last year: The Kensigton close Hotel (central and very easy to reach by public transportation) We’ve made a few changes… we think for the better. πŸ˜‰

A new agenda

First off all, less storage and more containers and cloud.
I know, storage is really an interesting topic but we want to explore in-depth some of the new technologies that have been appearing in the Datacenter. More cloud, software-defined networking and containers to help cover all aspects of modern IT. Here the list of influencers, you’ll be meeting in London.

6tag_020216-092632We’ve chosen a theme in London I think end users will love. In fact we will be focusing on “Real World IT” and how next generation technologies are adopted by IT organizations. We’ll have a lot to discuss, I’m sure… For example, Nigel Poulton’s session will be entirely focused on a real container deployment on AWS for a basic application. And I think you won’t have any doubt about the energy that Nigel can put in his presentations after watching his session in Austin!

I’m also asking our sponsors to be even more informative than usual. And my idea is to involve them in interview-style sessions with end users who want to talk in public about their IT infrastructures and how the specific vendor helped us to solve their problems.

And we’ve also changed the format of the panels. We are now calling the panels AMA “Ask Me Anything”. The moderator will invite the audience to actively participate in the panel by asking questions on anything that comes to mind about the topics we covered during the day. I think we will have a lot of interaction and fun!

We are setting up the agenda right now, and it will be online next week!

What else?

IMG_20150422_093920The address for the registration is available here at this link.

From now on, we will be requiring a registration fee for vendor employees. They are more than welcome, it’s not a high fee, and it’s just a small contribution to make so the sponsors don’t feel like they are paying for meals for potential competitors. πŸ˜‰

We are expecting the usual 50/60 attendees and we are organizing everything accordingly. It doesn’t mean that seating is strictly limited but… you better hurry and sign up if you are interested in attending!

We will keep you posted on what is going on with the organization, the sessions and the agenda! Follow @TECH_unplugged, me (@esignoretti) and Arjan (@Arjantim) on twitter for the latest news and updates about TECHunplugged!

And don’t forget the beers

Group of friends enjoying a beer at pub in LondonThe night before the event, on the 11th, we will be having #storagebeers with our friends in IT. If you think you might be joining us for an informal chat about IT and meeting up with a bunch of friends, don’t forget to RSVP on twitter (@storagebeersUK) or drop a message to me!

A message for sponsors

If you are a vendor and you think TECHunplugged is a good idea. Don’t hesitate to send a message either to me or Arjan or David (in US) to get all the information and sponsoring options.
